[Sayid treks out into the jungle hears, the trees shake and rustle. The Man in Black appears]
The Man in Black: Hello, Sayid.
[Sayid comes forward and stabs him the in heart]
The Man in Black:[Startled, he pulls the knife from his chest with a grunt. He is unharmed] Now why'd you go and do that?...You want it back. Take it, I won't bite.
Sayid:[He takes it] What are you?
The Man in Black: Well you seem to have some sort of idea about that, Sayid, considering you stabbed me in the chest without even saying hello.

[Shannon's limited command of French is not up to translating Rousseau's notes.]
Sayid: This was a mistake.
Shannon: Yeah. Haven't you heard? I'm completely useless.

[Something goes wrong during surgery]
Other: His blood pressure's dropping. He shouldn't be bleeding like that.
Jack: No, he shouldn't. [Punches out the Other]

[Sun, Ilana, Ben, and Frank have put John Locke's body in a grave on the beach]
Ilana: Does anyone want to say something? Did anyone know him?[No one steps up]
Ben: Okay, I knew him. John Locke was...a believer. He was a great man. A much better man than I ever was...And I'm very sorry I murdered him.
'[Everyone is shocked to hear this. Ben and Frank start filling the grave]
Frank:[Under his breath] Weirdest damn funeral I've ever been to...

[The group are on the sailboat to Hydra Island]
Jack: This doesn't feel right.
Sawyer: What doesn't feel right?
Jack: Leaving The Island.
Sawyer: Wanna me why not?
Jack: Because I remember how I felt the last time I left. Like a part of me was missing.
Sawyer: They got pills for that, doc.
Jack: We were brought here because we were supposed to do something, James. And if Locke-- if that thing wants us to leave, maybe it's because he's afraid of what happens if we stay.
Sawyer: Get off my damn boat.
Jack: What?
Sawyer: You got a choice to make and you make it now. Either you're with you and you keep that damn crazy talk to yourself or you're going in the water.
Jack: James this is a mistake, and I know there's a part of you that feels that. The Island isn't done with us.
Sawyer: Yeah, well I'm done with this Island. So if you wanna take a leap of faith, take it. Get off my damn boat.
Jack:[Pause] I'm sorry I got Juliet killed. [Jack jumps off the boat]

[The hunting party is talking to Mr. Friendly.]
Mr. Friendly: [to Jack] Let me ask you something. How long have you been here on the island?
Jack: 50 days.
Mr. Friendly: Fuuh! 50 days. That's about two whole months. Tell me, when you go over to man's house for the first time, do you take off your shoes? Do you put your feet up on his coffee table? Do you walk to the kitchen and eat food that doesn't belong to you? Open doors to rooms you got no business opening?
[Jack, Sawyer and Locke stare silently]
Mr. Friendly: You know, somebody a whole lot smarter than anybody here once said, since the dawn of our species, man has been blessed with curiosity. [to Jack] You know the other one 'bout curiosity, don't you Jack?
[Jack stares silently]
Mr. Friendly: This is not your island. This is our island and the only reason that you're livin' on it, is because we let you live on it.
Jack:[Laughs] I don't believe you.
Mr. Friendly: You don't believe what?
Jack: I think that you have two other guys out there with guns. I think there's more of us than there are of you. I think if you had any real power you wouldn't have had to send a spy. Ethan?
Mr. Friendly: That's an interesting theory...LIGHT EM UP![A dozen torches ignite in the trees, revealing they are surrounded]
Mr. Friendly: Now we seem to have a misunderstanding. But we're drawing a line right here and if you cross we are gonna go from misunderstanding to...something else. Now lay down your guns, turn around, and go home.
Jack: No.

[The Man in Black and Ben find Desmond has escaped from the well he was trapped in]
Ben: What did Widmore say to you?
The Man in Black: He said Desmond was a fail-safe. Jacob's last resort in case, God forbid, I managed to kill all of his beloved candidates. One final way to make sure I never leave this Island.
Ben: Then...Why are you happy he's alive?
The Man in Black: Because I'm gonna find Desmond, and when I do he's gonna help me do the one thing that I could never do myself. I'm gonna destroy the Island.

[The Man in Black and Sayid prepare to leave]
Sawyer: Where are you two going with the guns?
The Man in Black: Hydra Island, we're taking the outrigger.
Sawyer: Well, why do you gotta take a boat? can't you just do your smoke thing and fly your ass over the water?
The Man in Black: If I could do that, do you think I'd still be here?
Sawyer:[Sarcastic] No, 'cause that'd be ridiculous!

[The Man In Black leads his group through the jungle.]
The Man In Black: About a quarter mile ahead there's a clearing. We'll make camp there. Everybody fill up on water. We might be there a couple of days.
Sawyer: A couple of days? I thought you said we were getting off this rock?
The Man In Black: We are.
Sawyer: When?
[Some people within the group notice this dispute. The Man In Black notices them watching him and Sawyer have their arguement]
The Man In Black: Maybe we should talk about this in private.
Sawyer: Great. Let's go.
[The Man In Black leads Sawyer into a jungle clearing away from the rest of the group]
The Man In Black: I wish you hadn't interrupted me.
Sawyer: [Sarcasticly] Oh I'm sorry... I forgot my manners.
The Man In Black: I forgive you.
Sawyer: Yeah right....So what happened back at the temple? How'd you know to rescue everybody from that smoke thing?
The Man In Black: I didn't rescue them. [Pause] I'm the smoke thing.
[Sawyer looks shocked and confused by the news]
Sawyer: You telling me you killed all of those people?
The Man In Black: I gave them the opportunity to leave peacefully and they didn't take it.
Sawyer: Why not?
The Man In Black: Because they're convinced that they're protecting the Island from me, when in fact all I want to do is leave. [Pause] So it's either kill or be killed. And I don't wanna be killed James.

[the Man in Black sits on a log in the shade, he holds a white stone. Jacob shows up]
Jacob: Morning.
The Man in Black: Morning.
Jacob: I see you got my present.
The Man in Black: Don't gloat, Jacob. It doesn't become you.
Jacob: So you tried to kill me.
The Man in Black: You expect an apology?
Jacob: I'd just like to know why you did it.
The Man in Black: Because I want to leave. Just let me leave, Jacob.
Jacob: As long as I'm still alive, you're not going anywhere.
The Man in Black: Then now you know why I want to kill you. And I will kill you, Jacob.
Jacob: Even if you do, someone else will take my place.
The Man in Black: Well, then I'll kill them too.
Jacob: [Hands him a jug of wine] Well here's something to pass the time. See ya around. [Jacob leaves]
The Man in Black: Sooner than you think. [He smashes the jug against the log, releasing the wine]

[The survivors watch as the monster, which is much bigger than ever before and with lightning going though it, attacks the mercenaries at the tree line]
Locke: [to Ben] What did you do?!
Hurley: You just called that thing?!

[There is a knock at Jack's house. Jack opens the door and Faraday bursts in with Miles]
Faraday: Hey Jack, how did you get back? How did you do it, how did you get back to the island?
Jack: Dan, wow....where have you been?
Dan: I've been at Dharma Headquarters in Ann Arbor, I was doing some research, but whats more important right now, how did you get back here, to 1977?
[Jack looks over at Miles]
Jack: What's going on?
Miles: Hey don't look at me, I just carried his luggage.
Faraday: Jack. How?
Jack: We were on a plane and then...
Faraday: And who told you to get on that plane?
Jack: As a matter of fact Daniel it was your mother.
[Dan nods]
Faraday: And how did she convince you Jack? Did she tell you it was your destiny?
Jack: Yeah thats exactly what she said.
Faraday: Well I got some bad news for you Jack, you don't belong here at all. She was wrong.

[They chat in the computer system]
Walt:Who is this?
Michael:This is Michael. Who is this?
Walt:Dad?

[Upon seeing "the numbers" written on the hatch]
Hurley: Oh dude, no way...
Season Two

[Upon seeing Locke, Jack immediately attacks him, beating him to the ground. Locke goes for his gun, but Jack grabs it away and aims it him. The group looks on, shocked.]
Locke: You won't shoot me, Jack. Anymore than I was gonna-[Is cut off when Jack pulls the trigger. But nothing happens.]
Locke:[Amazed] It's not loaded...
[Jack begins to continue beating Locke before he is pulled off by Sawyer and Sayid]
Jack: Let go of me![To Sayid] Do you know what he did?!
Sayid: Yes, I know what he did!
Locke: All I did, all I have ever done, has been in the best interests of all of us.
Jack: Are you insane!?
Locke: I know I have a lot of explaining to do. But I never did anything to hurt any of you. I even risked my life to tell you there was a traitor in your midst.[Points at Juliet]
Jack: She helped us, John. All you ever did was blow up every chance we've had of getting off of this Island! You killed Naomi.
Ben: Well, technically, he didn't kill her. Yet.
Kate:[Just arriving] Yes he did. She just died. She didn't give you up, John. She covered for us, and she fixed this.[Hands Jack the phone] They're on their way.
Locke: She didn't cover for anyone. She wants her people to come here. And trust me, when they do we had all better be far away from here. I'm going to the Barracks. The Others abandoned them. It's the only place on the Island with any form of security, so it'll have to do until I can think of something else. Until then, if you wanna live, you need to come with me.
Jack: No one's going anywhere with you, John. Because they're not crazy.
Hurley:[teary eyed] He's not crazy! What about Charlie? Charlie went down to that place so we could all be rescued. And whatever he did down there, it worked. But then something must have happened. He must have heard something before he...[Becomes overwhelemed with emotion] I don't know why, but he changed his mind. Because the last thing he did was warn us that the people on that boat are not who they said they were. So I'm not listening to you! I'm listening to my friend. I'm listening to Charlie.
